Clear the roads!// life of late//

This morning I was up at the crack of dawn getting ready to go to the dds. The drive over there was especially nerve racking.... The wait was even more so. The girl who was testing in front of me knocked a bunch of cones over.. The girl behind me was so nervous she kept walking out onto the course pretending she was a car. She watched the chick in front of me intently. The girl in front of me passed. I was happy to see her jump out of the car and jump into her Dad's arms.
"Good news is even if you knock all the cones over you'll still pass" Dad encouraged.
I was so happy when the Lady came over to my car. I had told Dad I didn't want him to watch me because I would be more  nervous.  I wasn't nervous at all when she got in. I knew what to do. I did however notice the girl behind me watching my every move. I passed parallel parking. Straight line, no knocked over cones. I found out that the Lady testing me had the same name as my Mom, and her daughter was getting wanting to make animated movies. The road test was easy. A lot easier than I thought it would be. I passed with a 92!!!! :D

Soooo I had a huge happy dance, and my Dad kinda did too. I was so excited I had a cheesy smile plastered on my face all the way home. YAY! {My Dad was hiding behind a van watching}

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I ran out of picture space (again) . Also kinda busy still helping with the house etc..
I have LOTS more pictures to share, but for now, I'll leave you with our winter rain.

Enjoying Each Moment

when I was a wee lass, i couldn't wait till bed time. why? because that was the time where i could spend hours imagining scenarios that would never happen. having battles, getting married at seven, owning one of those mini jeeps from wal-mart and driving across america in it. at a young age i was constantly yearning for the future. i am guilty of still doing this. wasting so much time wishing i had something i don't have. spending hours  daydreaming and yearning. i finally realised how unproductive this is. and i thought, why not just enjoy this moment? right now? so, i started actually enjoying reading all day beside the chrsitmas tree. enjoying doing the laundry, and making my bed. enjoying breakfast time and how the house smelt like chrsistmas cheer. instead of staying up late wishing for the future, i just sat still and enjoyed being in my bed. in my cozy room on my clean sheets. monday morning started out very stressful. and i was already wishing for something else than what i had. and then i got a phone call from an unknown number. i quickly answered it.
"i need to speak with morgan m?"
"that's me"
i have an interview this friday for a job. {prayers please?}
after my phone call it started hitting me that this is real. everything i had been pining for for months suddenly came crashing down. i went and sat beside my sister lauryn. realising if i got this job, my time with her and my siblings would be fewer. i would miss them. miss my home. miss my chores. miss my free time, like reading in front of the tree. i might miss some family chrsitmas dinners. and i felt really sad as the realisation that this is real, washed over me. tuesday i was snuggling with my mom when she asked me to hand her the phone. i did. a few moments later i realised who she was talking to and her purpose for the phone call.
"yes i need to set my daughter up an appointment to take her driving test?"
yikes.
the possibility of me working part time and driving lay before me. i'm really scared and very nervous. {prayers please?}
these last few days have been precious to me, as i face the immediate future. i have been striving to keep my mind on the here and now instead of the future. because it comes sooner then later. i want to capture every moment before {IF} my life takes off.
{prayers please?}
hugs.
{enjoy the here and now. please. the future will come in its own timing.}

Memoir Mondays

Something I have always enjoyed is telling stories. The tales of when I was a young lass. The adventures I had. The mishaps and accidents and the weird and hilarious. I have so many stories to share. Whenever my siblings and I camp together, and when I am about to fall asleep, they beg me to tell them the tale that they already know by heart. "Tell us a story Morgan!"

So. I decided I would like to tell my tales to the world. I am starting every Monday a telling of my past. Feel free to link up if you would like to tell your tales. Today I decided I would tell a tale of when I was about eight or nine...

I always loved playing war. Not the card game war. War as in war. I remember me and all my friends invented something where we could play war all the time. We called it, The Girl and Boy Battle. Boys vs. Girls. There was four on the boys team. Hayden, Tullis, Daniel and Matt. On the Girls team, we had three. Sarah, Anna and me. Our motto was "Girls rule and boys drool!". We would throw that at them every chance we had. We would chase them around and lock them in storage closets. They still {to this day} say they won all the battles. But we just let them believe that. We remember who we had surrounded in the barn. How they screamed when they saw us. How we locked them in the closet. Stole their golf cart. Yeah. They won alright. I remember the nights Matt and I would make our separate secret PLANS. My PLANS were usually to create a giant Shelob like machine and scare them. That never happened though ;). I was the 'leader' of the girls team. That is until one of the boys decided they would much rather be on the girls team then the guys team. Took my role as leader. {However, my plans of action were always taken instead of his} We got lots of info out of him. However, the boys team was never very stealthy. They were loud and indiscreet. We could hear what they were planning from a ways off. I would sneak in Matt's room and find his plans. We always knew what they were up too. I remember I LOVED to see their faces when I would shout their plans back at them. The confusion would strike them dumb, and they would immediately turn to each other looking for the traitor. I would laugh and laugh so hard
{left to right}
Hayden, Tullis, Matt , Daniel.
Sarah, me, Anna.
Lauryn and Callah.
I have so many stories from these days, I can't wait to tell them all with you. I hope you enjoyed the little bit I shared today :D
hugs. xx

Happy Thanksgiving.

Our family celebrated thanksgiving early due to everyones work schedules. We went to my Grandma's house in the mountains where we stuffed ourselves silly. I literally loosened my belt buckle I ate so much. :( Baby Ellie was the main attraction. She is so precious, I couldn't help but hold her a few times. I climbed a tree with my brother and scared the living daylights out of my Mom. The Little's ran around on the deck playing blinds mans bluff, and chasing Wall-e with the tennis ball. We went back for seconds, and then shoved as many leftovers as we could in every Tupperware tub we could find. We hugged and said our goodbyes. I listened to Taylor Swift all the way down the mountain. We got home and whilst carrying in some leftovers, I spilt ranch all down the leg of my pants. Matt called me a salad and started gnawing my arm. I took a shower, got an early start on the laundry, tidied my room and said goodnight. I jumped in bed with a jar of nutella and some Lark Rise to Candleford episodes. I had a very good early thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season as well.
hugs.

Life according to Perry

Taken by my lil sister who is the best.
my days have been very slow and very fast at the same time. been searching high and low looking for a job. i've driven a lot lately. well, as much as one can when your mom's leg is broken. (prayers please?) our basement flooded. really bad. all the carpet in my room and in the living room area had to be pulled up and chunked. the smell of bleach is so powerful down there, my eyes start burning and i get an immediate head ache. i've been busy with washing all the blankets, clothes etc that were all in my room. that plus the mountain of clothes in the laundry room.  i've actually read two books in the last week. i think i have only read (all the way through) one or two books this whole year. feels good to lose myself in a good book. i've missed it. matt and lauryn made a big leaf pile, and i was present to snap a few photos of them diving in. then lauryn snapped a few of me playing in it as well.  my heart has been learning to be happy with little things around here. because we haven't been able to get out much, and my mom is injured, us kids have been running the house. i've been seeing things lately, that just make me happy. cheesy mac'n' cheese, clean white sheets flapping on the line, reading fluffy books for hours, childhood movies, jumping in leaf piles.. the list goes on. i hope your november is going well.
hugs.

November I'll remember

Dear November. // journal entry.
Every Fall for the last two years have been packed full of our activity's. I completely missed October.
But the calendar looks pretty empty for you. And maybe I will be able to enjoy the last month of Autumn. I will be home more.

 See, my Mom broke her leg, and tore everything up in her foot, and she just got out of surgery. She won't be up and around for a few months. I have been home a lot, running the house. Not something I mind. These last few days have been a blur of driving Mom back and forth from the doctor, doing the mountain of laundry, and keeping up with what the kidlets are doing.. (i.e some are on the roof, some are on the computer and some are scaring the living daylights out of me.) My nights have been me and Matt in front of the computer with a jar of Nutella each- singing along with the Robin Hood theme song, as we watch the same episode again. I have tried to take photos to relax with all the stress. It usually helps. I've been really tired. The nights where Grandma stays with us and brings us all Five Guys for dinner, and I sink my teeth into the best hamburger in the world. It's the best.
 I am really really missing my summer. I'm missing my friends.  But i'm fine.
xx

Going back to my roots

For those that know me well, you know I am a summer girl through and through.
Don't get me wrong, I love crisp cool weather, coats and coffee and the holidays.. Buuuut...
The last few days it has been really really cold. And I find myself thinking more and more about Summer. And, I thought that I had finally talked myself into being a Fall type of girl. But I'm not. I miss my summer. Really bad. And kind of sad that I have to go through Spring to get to it. :( (not a huge Spring fan). So any ways. If your looking for a really poetic Fall post, I'm sorry, but I'm really missing my Summer :(
